His woman
Published in Unknown Binding by Mills & Boon ()
Author: Jessica Steele
Average review score:

One of my favorites!
I've read a lot of romance books and many haven't been worth a second look, but I've held on to this book for years because I can't bear to part with it. It's as interesting re-reading for the tenth time as it was the first. If you're looking for a book that you won't put down for even a moment, this is it! Wonderful story and characters. I love Jessica Steele's books.

How to Recover from Grief
Published in Paperback by Judson Pr (May, 1996)
Authors: Richard Lewis Detrich and Nicola J. Steele
Average review score:

Why We Wrote This Book
My wife and I wrote this book for three reasons: (1) To provide you with information about the process of grief, knowing that if you understand what's happening you'll be less fearful and better able to work through your grief; (2) To provide you with support as you go through the grief process, assuring you it's OK to grieve, it's OK to take your time (it takes as long as it takes), and assuring you that what you're going through is probably perfectly normal for someone who's grieving; (3) To provide a catalyst for your growth, because although it's horribly painful, you can grow through this process and, even if you don't believe it now, you do have a future.

This isn't pretentious. It's easy to read and a convenient book to mark up. You don't have to digest it all in one gulp! At first, when your grief is raw, you may only be able to deal with the quotes in the margins, but the time will come, down the road, when you are ready to come back and read more.

We're grateful that this book has helped many people through their grief, and we hope it can help you. Grief is hard, painful work! Your whole world has turned upside down. Nothing makes sense any more. You feel alone and confused. You think your feelings and emotions are out of control. You wonder at times if you are losing your mind. This book is for you!

Ibis
Published in Paperback by New American Library (September, 1985)
Author: Linda Steele

Linda Steele's World of Ibis
Ms. Steele wrote this book in the mid'80's.

This is a science fiction story. It describes the impact of a world where females of a similar though different species are in charge completely, upon a spaceship load of men and women from a culture very like ours.

There are certainly some very interesting twists in the plot.

I know Ms. Steele, and I understand She has begun writing again after a career change. I eagerly await Her new works!

In Search of Steele Rudd: Author of the Classic Dad & Dave Stories
Published in Hardcover by University of Queensland Press (December, 1995)
Author: Richard Fotheringham
Average review score:

Thorough biography of the author of an Australian icon
This book is a biography of Arthur Hoey Davis who wrote under the pseudonym of Steele Rudd. His stories "On our selection" and others in the series were the most popular publications in Australia in the early years of the twentieth century. The rural characters he created, Dad and Dave, are deeply embedded in an earlier Australian consciousness. The book documents for the first time the details of Davis's somewhat tragic life and the appropriation of his characters by others without recompense. The famous radio serial "Dad and Dave" was extremely popular in Australia. Although it used his characters, it was not written or authorised by Steele Rudd. The book reveals Davis's real understanding of the misery of the life of the small Australian "selector" despite the affection for it with which his stories are usually associated. Selectors have similarities with the situation of small landholders and the homesteaders in the USA in the nineteenth century.
